Expecting Baby Number 3 | Northern Viginia Maternity Photographer

Over the years I have heard from many moms that love maternity portraits, but they never did that for their older children and feel almost guilty for getting them done this time. I totally get this. I myself, did not have maternity portraits taken with my older 2 children, and it is something I completely regret. But that actually made me want me to have them more for my younger children.

Each pregnancy is so incredibly special and it is part of our story as mothers. And as we near the end of this season, when we realize that this will be our last time we will ever be pregnant, this time becomes even more special. Pregnancy is hard but it is also incredibly beautiful and powerful. This season fills us up with so much joy and anticipation and fear and unknowns. And so much love for someone who we haven’t even met yet. 40 weeks drags on and on until it’s over, then we realized how fast it went by. We don’t get this time back, so it’s so important to document it! Even if you did not do that when you were pregnant with your older children.

This was the case with Kaitlyn, she never had maternity portraits before. There was some guilt that she hadn’t done it for her other so should she get them this time for baby #3? But she knew this was her last baby. She knew she would never feel the little kicks again. She wanted to celebrate not just this sweet baby, but she wanted to celebrate the end of this season of her life. I think this is so beautiful! And you can tell by the images that no matter how uncomfortable she may be feeling at this stage of pregnancy, she is savoring each moment. Because before she knows it, this moment would be gone forever.
